Representatives of Halal certification centre participated in World Halal Summit The World Halal Summit took place in Istanbul under the patronage of the President of Turkey Recep Erdogan. The event was organized by the partner of the International Centre for Halal Standardization and Certification  by the Discover Events company in cooperation with the Islamic Centre for the Development of Trade (ICDT) and the Institute of Standards and Metrology of Islamic Countries (SMIIC OIC).

The delegation of the International Centre for Halal Standardization and Certification and Gulftic-ICSC Halal, headed by CEO Aidar Gazizov, participated in the World Halal Summit. The event started with the recitation of some verses from the Holy Quran, which was followed by the speeches of the invited guests.

Aidar Gazizov spoke on the first day of the Summit during the session “Accreditation and Certification in the Halal Industry”. He delivered a presentation devoted to “Halal Certification in non-Muslim countries. The role and responsibility of government institutions. ” He spoke about the successful development of the halal industry in Russia, the support it gets from the state, and shared the experience of the Halal certification bodies. For many years, Russian organizations certified by the International Centre for Halal Standardization and Certification have been exporting halal products to the markets of the OIC countries and other regions of the world, and Gulftic-ICSC Halal is the only Halal certification body in the CIS accredited by the GAC accreditation centre of the GCC countries and registered by ESMA.

Aidar Gazizov also  expressed his concern regarding numerous halal certification centres represented by poorly qualified staff, often consisting of one or two persons offering certification without following the rules and without any control.

“We have learned from our experience that an independent supervisor from a halal certification authority supervisor must control the entire process of halal production,” said Aidar .— “This should be strictly stipulated n all Standards, including the national and international halal standards of the OIC countries.”

In the following days of the Summit, speakers from different countries delivered their presentations within the framework of such sessions as “Scientific and expert opinions, innovative solutions for the challenges of the halal industry”, “Halal tourism”, “Importance of halal finance in production and investment conferences”, etc.

The delegation of the International Centre for Halal Standardization and Certification held important meetings with representatives of the World Muslim League, with the heads of the Halal Accreditation Agency of Turkey, as well as other partners and colleagues.  As part of the Summit, there was a meeting with the world famous British singer Cat Stevens, also known as Yusuf Islam.
