On behalf of the religious leader of Russian Muslims, Mufti Sheikh Ravil Gainutdin, the head of the international department of the RMC took part in the celebration of the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People. The event was organized by the UN Information Center in Moscow, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia, and the Mission of the Arab League in Moscow. It should be noted that this event marked the opening of the Days of Palestinian Culture in Russia.

The events were attended by Deputy Foreign Minister of Russia, Mikhail Bogdanov, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the State of Palestine Abdel Hafiz Nofal, Director of the Ministry of Culture in Bethlehem Zuhair Tamizi and Deputy Director of the Department of Regional Development and Priority Projects of the Ministry of Culture of Russia Anton Kuznetsov.

The ceremonial part was followed by a performance of the Sabreen Arab music ensemble and the ensemble of the Bethlehem Music Academy. The exhibition “Jerusalem 100 Years Ago” opened at the House of Music on the same day.

As a part of the celebration of the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People, a literary evening of Abdulla Issa, well-known writer and translator of Russian poetry, and a presentation of his book “Best Russian poems. Anthology of the modern Russian poetry” were held at the Peoples’ Friendship University of Russia.

During a short meeting with the Ambassador of Palestine to the Russian Federation, Ildar Galeyev conveyed greetings of Mufti Sheikh Ravil Gaynutdin and wished stability and peace in the region,. He also congratulated Mr. Nofal and the Palestinian people in the implementation of such an important project as the Days of Palestinian Culture in Russia.
