The religious leader of Russian Muslims, Mufti Sheikh Ravil Gainutdin met the Deputy Minister of Awqaf of Kuwait, Waleed Al-Shuaib, and his assistant, Nasir Al-Kandari, at his residence in the Moscow Cathedral Mosque.

The delegation visited Moscow on the occasion of the Moscow International Quran Reciting Competition, which is held under the auspices of the Government of Dubai this year.

At the beginning of the meeting, Mufti Sheikh Ravil Gainutdin welcomed the distinguished guests and thanked for visiting the Quran Reciting Competition. He said that the fact that one of the most prominent scholars of Kuwait, Abdul Aziz Al-Anzi, headed the Competition jury, was a great honour. The mufti also thanked the Ministry of Awqaf and personally the Deputy Minister Sheikh Waleed Al-Shuaib for the support of the international contests of Quran reciters.

Mufti Sheikh Ravil Gaynutdin emphasized that the Muslims of Russia and Kuwait traditionally had fraternal relations. The mutually beneficial cooperation between the Russia Muftis Council, the Religious Board of Muslims of the Russian Federation and the Ministry of Awqaf of Kuwait contributes to strengthening these relations. This is clearly demonstrated by the conferences held on the occasion of the 90th and 100th anniversary of the Moscow Cathedral Mosque, educational projects for studying Arabic, advanced training courses at the Kuwait State University, joint educational seminars in Moscow and Kazan, participation of representatives of Kuwait in the opening ceremony of the Kul Sharif mosque.

At the end of the meeting, Mufti Sheikh Ravil Gainutdin noted that the visit of the delegation from Kuwait was a great honor for Russian Muslims.
