9th International Halal Congress takes place in Moscow On April 26, the 9th International Congress "Halal" was held in the 5th pavilion of Expocentre within the framework of the International Congress-Exhibition Russian Halal Expo 2018. The organizer was the International Center for Halal Standardization and Certification under the Russia Muftis Council.

The first session, which brought together distinguished guests and participants, was devoted to the unification of halal standards. The moderator of the session, the general director of the Halal Centre and the Gulftic-ICSC Halal certification body, the chairman of the Halal Eurasian Union Aidar Gazizov, noted that the each country could have its own halal standards, but the unification and the formation of a global halal standard Halal would represent a significant development in the global Halal industry. He also mentioned one of the main issues in the Halal industry today, that is the presence of pseudo-certification bodies unrelated to religious organizations.

The general director of the Emirates Authority for Standardization and Metrology( ESMA) Abdullah Abdulkader Al-Maini confirmed there was the necessity to develop global halal standards.
 
The Secretary General of the Standards and Metrology Institute of Islamic countries (SMIIC) Ihsan Ovut, spoke about new standards, the principles of their implementation, and invited participants and guests to the OIC Halal Expo, which will be held from 29 November to 2 December 2018 in Istanbul.
 
In the second session of the Congress the discussion was devoted to the halal certification in the world. Sergey Korablev, head of the project on the international adaptation of export goods of the Russian Export Center, noted the differences in the export of Halal products compared to other products. Such  differences are usually attributed to the specific requirements of the importing countries.
  
The main expert of the Halal Committee of the Spiritual Board of Muslims of Kazakhstan (Halal Damu) Almagul Abildinova shared the experience of certification of Halal products in Kazakhstan, and also noted the importance of the unity of the ummah regarding the control of Halal products.
 
Rustam Khasenevich, deputy mufti of Belarus, head of the Islamic religious association "Belkhalal" shared experience of halal certification in Belarus.
 
It should be noted that the congress participants agreed othat halal certification bodies should work together with the religious centers, and should comply with all requirements of both basic religious principles and Halal standards.
