Serbian Mufti Mevlud Dudic visits Moscow Cathedral Mosque Mufti Shaykh Ravil Gainutdin received a delegation of Muslims of Serbia led by the chairman of the Islamic organization (Meshihat) in Serbia, PhD in Philosophy Mufti Mevlud Dudic. The delegation visited Russia for the first time at the personal invitation of the religious leader of Russian Muslims, Mufti Sheikh Ravil Gaynutdin.


The Serbian delegation also included Dr. Reshad Ployevic, the madrasah director, and the Dr. Enver Gicic, the dean of the Islamic Studies Department.  The meeting was also attended by the first deputy chairman of the Russia Muftis Council and the Religious Board of Muslims of Russia Rushan Abbyasov, the first deputy chairman of Religious Board of Muslims of Russia Damir Gizatullin, the first deputy chairman of the Religious Board of Muslims of Russia Damir Mukhetdinov, the head of the International Department Ildar Galeyev.

During the reception the parties discussed strengthening cooperation and interaction between Russian and Serbian Muslims, namely in the area of Islamic education, halal industry, interfaith dialogue, waqf, participation of the Serbian side in the activities of the Russian Muftis Council and the Religious Board of Muslims of Russian Federation.

Mufti Sheikh Ravil Gaynutdin told the guest about the projects and programs of the RMC and the Religious Board of Muslims of Russia. In particular, he mentioned that a hafiz from Serbia had taken part in the Moscow International Qur’an Reciting Competition in 2016.

"We are looking forward to the participation of Serbia in all our projects." This year there will be a unique international conference called “The Spiritual Silk Road”, the International Muslim Forum, the Ramadan Tent, the Moscow Halal Expo, the Kazan International Muslim Film Festival featuring some films of Serbian directors”, Mufti Sheikh Ravil Gaynutdin added.

Mufti Mevlud Dudic thanked Mufti Sheikh Ravil Gaynutdin for his invitation to Russia.

"I admire Islam in Russia. We used to think that there were not many Muslims in your country, but now we see a unique infrastructure, beautiful mosques, educational institutions, many projects and programs," said the chairman of the Islamic organization (Meshihat) in Serbia.

At the end of the meeting, the parties agreed on further cooperation, exchanged memorable gifts and performed Juma prayer in the Moscow Cathedral Mosque.

The day before the delegation had become acquainted with the life of the Moscow Ummah. The guests visited the DAR Cultural centre and met the Moscow Mufti Ildar Alyautdinov.
