The Islamic Association of China hosted the meeting between Rushan Abbyasov, first deputy chairman of the Russian Muftis Council and the Religious Board of Muslims of the Russian Federation, and Abdullah Amin Rubin, deputy chairman of the Islamic Association of China, Member of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference. The meeting was attended by the representative of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Tatarstan under the Trade Mission of the Russian Federation in China Marsel Gilyazov, executive assistant of the Russian Embassy Stanislav Morozov, representatives of the State Administration for Religious Affairs of China, the staff of the Islamic Association China and the Russia Muftis Council.

The parties discussed the current cooperation between the Russian Muftis Council and the Islamic Association of China, as well as possible ways of expanding and deepening bilateral cooperation in the field of education and religious affairs.

The parties also discussed the organization of the 3rd International Academic and Theological Conference "Spiritual Silk Road", which is going to be held this year in Bishkek. Rushan Abbyasov described in detail his recent visit to Kyrgyzstan, where he met the Prime Minister of the country, Sapar Isakov.

The deputy chairman of the Islamic Association of China, Mr. Rubin, thanked the Russian Muftis Council for its international activities aimed at strengthening ties with Chinese Muslims.

"The Spiritual Silk Road" is a platform where we can discuss important issues, expand our contacts, exchange experience, "said Mr. Abdullah Rubin.

The parties agreed to develop regional cooperation between the Religious Boards of Muslims  in different regions of Russia and the IAC branches in Chinese provinces and autonomous regions. They also discussed the development of the halal industry and intensification of economic contacts.

In his speech, Marsel Gilyazov, the representative of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Tatarstan under the Trade Mission of the Russian Federation in China, spoke about the investment opportunities in Tatarstan, the potential of the halal sector development, and the special economic zones of Tatarstan.
