The delegation of the Russia Muftis Council and the ReligiousBoard of Muslims of the Russian Federation, led by deputy head of the Russia Muftis Council Renat Abyanov, took part in the 2nd session of the Coordination Council of International Qur'anic Contests and Awards. The event was held in Kuwait under the patronage of the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs of Kuwait.

It should be noted that the meeting was attended by the members of the organizing committees of international competitions from around the world, who represented 16 countries, including Saudi Arabia, Morocco, Tunisia, Algeria, Egypt, Jordan, Russia, Croatia, etc.

During the session of the Coordination Council led by  Dr. Waleed Al-Shuaib, Deputy Minister of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs of Kuwait for the Holy Quran, the participants discussed such issues as improving the level of organization of international competitions, strengthening research activities, promoting the correct recitation of the Holy Quran.

The criteria for jury members of international competitions, proposed by Dr. Abdullah Ali Basfar, chairman of the International Association for the Affairs of the Qur’an and Sunnah, were approved during the session. A number of workshops on computer applications allowing to fully automate the judging process international competition were conducted by the representatives of the International Qur'an Recitation Contest in Kuwait.

A video presentation of the Moscow International Qur'an Reciting Competition was held at the 2nd meeting of the Coordination Council of International Qur’anic Contests and Awards.
