The International Centre for Halal Standardization and Certification has successfully accomplished the accreditation process with the relevant authorities of Saudi Arabia (GAC) and UAE (ESMA).

The GCC Accreditation Centre (GAC) was established by the GCC countries in order to regulate certification activities and to monitor manufacture of products in compliance with halal standards.

The Emirates Authority for Standardization & Metrology (ESMA) is the main certification institution in the UAE, which monitors manufacture of halal products in accordance with the standards’ requirements.

Before the accreditation the International Halal Centre had gone through some preparatory stages. In particular, the experts of the GCC Accreditation Centre and the Emirates Authority for Standardization & Metrology had visited the Stavropolskiy Broiler company, which is a part of the Resurs group of agricultural enterprises, and the Optimum company (Ekol). During the inspection the auditors made sure that the Halal Certification Centre was able to monitor production of halal goods in a responsible way and to carry out all necessary procedures related to auditing and testing the products for compliance with halal standards.

Based on the results of the inspection, the relevant institutions of Saudi Arabia and the UAE decided to grant accreditation to the International Centre for Halal Standardization and Certification enabling it to monitor production of poultry, meat and sausage products and to issue halal certificates.

It should be noted that this accreditation will facilitate the export of halal products from Russia and CIS countries to Arab Muslim countries and will have a positive impact on the competitiveness of the products certified by the International Halal Centre at the global market.
