On 30 October mufti sheikh Ravil Gaynutdin, chairman of the Russia Muftis Council and the Religious Board of muslims of Russia, received an Iranian delegation led by the principal of the Islamic Madhabs University (Qom, Iran), Dr Mohammed Hossein Mohtari.

The parties discussed common projects within the framework of the memorandum, which had been signed earlier by mufti Gaynutdin and ayatolla Araki. These projects include an agreement on understanding and cooperation between the Moscow Islamic Institute and the Islamic Madhabs University.

The Iranian side invited the Russian delegation led by mufti Gaynutdin to visit Iran in order to learn more about the system of Islamic education in the country.

It should be reminded that the Memorandum between the World Association for Proximity of Islamic madhabs and the Religious Board of Muslims of Russia was signed on 19 October 2016 at the World Forum for Proximity of madhabs “The unity of Islam is the unity of Muslims: establishing a dialogue” in Moscow. The memorandum implies implementation of joint cultural, scientific, educational projects aimed at raising awareness about Islamic values, as well as cooperation for proximity of Islamic madhabs and consolidation of Muslim scholars.
