Today the first deputy chairman of the Russian Muftis Council and the Religious Board of Muslims of the Russian Federation, Rushan Abbyasov, met the chairman of the Moscow regional organization “The All-Russian society of Nature Preservation”, Yakov Bajunev, and the chairman of the local Muslim organization of the Rodniki village of the Moscow region, advisor of the All-Russian society of Nature Preservation, Ravil Ahmetjanov.

During the meeting the parties discussed the general environmental issues in Russia. Rushan Abbyasov spoke about the activity of the Commission for Environmental Affairs of the Expert Council under the Russia Muftis Council led by Rashid Ismailov, and mentioned the events and campaigns held by Muslims within the framework of the Year of Ecology in Russia.

The mufti of the Moscow region expressed hope for further productive cooperation in implementing joint projects related to the Year of Ecology.
