Negotiations between Russia and Kyrgyzstan Negotiations took place between Vladimir Putin and Almazbek Atambayev, President of Kyrgyzstan, who came to Russia with an official visit.

During the meeting the parties discussed relevant issues of bilateral relations. The negotiations continued later on with participation of other delegates.

Before the negotiations an official meeting ceremony was held, where the heads of two countries introduced the members of their delegations. Following the results of the visit, the parties signed a set of intergovernmental agreements on cooperation. Vladimir Putin and Almazbek Atambayev signed the Declaration on strengthening cooperation and strategic partnership between the Russian federation and Kyrgyzstan.

The presidents of Russia and Kyrgyzstan issued press statements.

Productive and mutually beneficial cooperation between Russian and Kyrgyz Muslims has been strengthening over the last decade. On 1 April mufti sheikh Ravil Gaynutdin, chairman of the Russia Muftis Council, met the President of Kyrgyzstan, Almazbek Atambayev in Bishkek. During this visit the parties emphasized the long-term cooperation of Muslims of our countries in scientific, educational and cultural projects.

During this visit the discussions were mainly devoted to joint efforts of both countries aimed at preventing terrorism and extremism.
