Moscow mufti meets Supreme judge of Palestine On 25 April representatives of Russia, Ukraine and Montenegro, who took part in the international conference, met the Supreme judge of Palestine, Mahmoud Al-Habbash in Ramallah, Palestine. The Mufti of Moscow, Ildar hazrat Alyautdinov was invited as an authorized representative of the RMC and the SBMRF.

At the beginning of the meeting Ildar hazrat conveyed greetings from mufti sheikh Ravil Gaynutdin, leader of Russin Musims, and thanked for inviting Russian Muslims to the conference.

Mahmoud al-Habbash expressed the hope that the relations between Russia and Palestine would grow even stronger. The Supreme judge mentioned that there were many sacred sites in Palestine: old temples, graves of prophets and companions, places related to the Prophet's (peace be upon him) Ascension. He noted that all this was the proof of this land's importance and cited the hadith of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) that one prayer in the Al-Aqsa mosque was equal to one thousand usual prayers, and that Al-Aqsa was the second mosque in the world after Masjid al-Haram.

Al-Habbash invited Russian Muslims to visit sacred places, by that supporting the Palestinian nation and contributing to the local infrastructure development.

“Al-Quds (Jerusalem) is a city of peace, where followers of all three religions should coexist peacefully, respecting each other. This is the message we would like to convey to the world, including Russia during the “Palestine Days”, which we are planning to hold in different countries in the nearest future”, — noted Mahmoud Al-Habbash.

Currently a book devoted to the correct and peaceful understanding of jihad in Islam is being prepared under his editorship. This book tells not about armed struggly, but about fighting one’s own drawbacks and striving for self-improvement. The path of the Prophet (peace be upon him) is a path of peace.

This May Mahmoud Abbas, President of Palestine, is supposed to meet the Russian President Vladimir Putin. The Supreme judge will visit Russia as a member of the Palestinian delegation. Al-Habbash said that during this visit he would like to see the Moscow Cathedral mosque and meet mufti sheikh Ravil Gaynutdin.
