Mufti sheikh Ravil Gaynutdin expressed his condolences to the head of Chechen Republic Ramzan Kadyrov and all residents of Chechnya in relation to the death of policemen during the counter-terrorist operation on December 4, 2014:

Dear Ramzan Ahmatovich and all people of the Chechen Republic!

On behalf of the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of the Russian Federation and Russia Muftis Council and me personally, let me express my deepest condolences on the death of ten law enforcement officers during the counter-terrorist operation in Grozny on December, 4.

The act of the terrorists who attacked a peaceful city and peaceful people is disgusting. The policemen sacrificed their lives protecting their city, their people, their Fatherland. They proved themselves to be true believers and patriots. May Almighty Allah welcome their souls and let them rest in peace! We may rightfully be proud of their heroism as well as their professionalism and selflessness.

We pray for the quickest recovery of those who were wounded and maimed during the special operation, and we also pray for the families of those who lost their sons, fathers, husbands and brothers on that tragic day.

Verily, we belong to Allah and to Him is our return!

Mufti sheikh Ravil Gaynutdin

Chairman of the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of the Russian Federation

Chairman of Russia Muftis Council
