Chairman of Russia Muftis Council mufti sheikh Ravil Gaynutdin met with the Minister of Wakuf and Religious Affairs of Oman Mr Abdullah bin Mohammed al Salimi.

During the meeting, parties stressed the importance of developing bilateral relations. Spiritual leader of Russian Muslims told of the everyday life of the Muslim communities in Russia and important programs and events organized by Russia Muftis Council.

Mufti sheikh Ravil Gaynutdin and Mr Salimi agreed on the necessity of resisting extremism and terrorism by spreading the true message of Islam among Muslims and non-Muslims alike.

"We should develop religious dialogue without compromising our identity," said the Minister. Ravil hazrat Gaynutdin, in his turn, praised the active participation of Omani diplomats and embassy officials in RMC programs, and told of the need to develop bilateral Omani-Russian relations in religious, scientific and cultural areas.

In the end of the meeting, parties agreed on participating in joint conferences and exhibitions, especially stressing the importance of the Religious Tolerance international exhibition that was presented in more than 40 cities of 15 countries since 2010, including Moscow.
