RMC deputy chairman Rushan hazrat Abbyasov met with ministerial advisor of Indonesian embassy A meeting between RMC deputy chairman Rushan hazrat Abbyasov and ministerial advisor of Indonesian embassy in Russian Federation Yul Edison took place in Russia Muftis Council.

The meeting was also attended by the staff members of Indonesian embassy and the head of the International relations department of Russia Muftis Council Ildar hazrat Galeev.

During the meeting, parties discussed questions pertaining to their present and future cooperation in the new year, and also congratulated each other on the occasion of Mawlid an-Nabi.

"We must use all opportunities to develop our bilateral relations. It is worth noting that Russia is among 14 countries listed as strategic partners of Indonesia. Our friendship ties must continue to develop in all fields, including religious sphere," said Yul Edison.

In his turn, RMC deputy chairman Rushan hazrat Abbyasov said: "We have much in common that would help us solidarize and successfully cooperate, for Indonesia, like Russia, is a multinational, multireligious and multicultural country."

In the end of the meeting, parties discussed ways of strengthening their cooperation, particularly through sharing experience between religious leaders and scholars.

"Muslims of Indonesia need to learn as much as possible about Islam in Russia," added Mr Edison. The parties also agreed on the need to sign memorandums of cooperation between Indonesian ministry of religious affairs and the largest Muslim organizations of our country.
