Rushan Abbyasov is the Deputy Chairman of the Russian Muftis Council and the RMC chief of staff.

Born on October 16, 1981 in Moscow. Attended a general education school with an emphasis on Arabic language and the foundations of Islam in Qatar in 1993-1997. Graduated from the Theology Department of the Moscow Islamic University and became imam-khatib in 2001. Sent to the Moscow Institute for Advanced Training in order to upgrade his skills regarding the development of the ethno-cultural education system in 2001. Graduated from the Russian Academy of Public Administration under the President of the Russian Federation with a degree in State and Municipal Administration in 2004. Since 2007 has been a postgraduate student of the Diplomatic Academy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation.

Work experience:

1997-1998 - Teacher of the secondary school No. 1186 with an ethnocultural Tatar component;

 1998-2003 - Teacher of the Moscow Cathedral Mosque madrasah.

1998-2007 - Deputy Director for teaching and educational work of the secondary school № 1167, teacher of the 12th level.

2001 - Chairman, Imam-Khatib of the Al-Ihsan Muslim community of  the Noginsk district in the Moscow region.

2001-2002 - Deputy Head of the International Department of the Religious Board of Muslims of the European part of Russia.

2002-2011 - Director of the International Department of the Russia Muftis Council (RMC).

 2009 - Member of the Presidium of the International Department of the Religious Board of Muslims of the European part of Russia.


2007-2009 - Member of the Public Chamber of the Moscow Region.

2009 - General Director, Editor-in-Chief of the Russia Muftis Council’s Publishing House, "Islamic Book"

2010 - Imam-mukhtasib and Chairman of the Mukhtasibat of the Moscow Region
