On Monday, June 30, a solemn opening ceremony of 9th annual Ramadan Tent took place on the territory of Moscow Memorial Mosque. The event began with the recitation of Holy Qur'an by an invited honourable guest, sheikh Ali from Egypt.

Ramadan Tent is traditionally organized by Russia Muftis Council with the support of Government of Moscow.

Chairman of the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of Moscow Oblast Ildar Alautdinov who spoke at the opening ceremony congratulated everyone with the beginning of the blessed month of Ramadan and the start of Ramadan Tent and conveyed the greetings of mufti sheikh Ravil Gaynutdin to the audience.

In his speech he especially noted that the fast of Ramadan is a cristallization of intents and deeds and reminded that the Ramadan Tent is open for everyone willing to participate no matter their cultural and religious background.

Ildar hazrat was supported by the deputy head of the department of national politics and relations with religious organizations of Moscow Konstantin Blazhenov who thanked the organizers of the event and namely mufti sheikh Ravil Gaynutdin and assured everyone that the Moscow Government will always support such events as Ramadan Tent.

Among other speakers were CEO of Russia Today Dmitrii Kiseliov, mufti of Tatarstan Kamil hazrat Samigullin, deputy chairman of the department for relations with religious communities of the Administration of the President of Russian Federation Almaz Fayzullin, vice president of the congress of Jewish Religious Communities and organizations of Russia Zinovii Kogan, deputy chairman of the sinodal department for church-society relations priest Roman Bagdasarov, imam khatib of Moscow Memorial Mosque Shamil hazrat Alyautdinov, bishop of the Russian Union of the Christians of Evangelical Faith Sergei Ryakhovskii.

Cultural program included performance of Muslim nasheeds by Hadis Sabiev and a video clip about Muslim fast.

The opening ceremony of Ramadan Tent was visited by representatives of Moscow city government, ambassadors of Muslim countries, plenipotentiary representatives of Russia's national republics, cultural and science figures, politicians, doctors and sportspeople.

Every day, beginning on July 1, Ramadan Tent will host iftars and cultural and educational events open for all people willing to visit them.
