A horrible terrorist act, second in the last 24 hours, happened in Volgograd. On the day before, a bomb went off in the train station of the city, killing 17 and injuring over 50 people. On Monday, a trolleybus was exploded in one of the districts of Volgograd. Second terror attack took the lives of 10 people, while more than 20 people were injured.

On behalf of millions of Russian Muslims, Russia Muftis Council offers condolences to the families of the deceased. We grieve with them and ask Almighty God to give them patience and strength to endure this tragedy, and wish quickest recovery to those who got injured in the attack.

Muslims of our country are ready to help the injured by donating blood and buying them medical supplies. This is our common grief, common tragedy which concerns everyone.

We are sure that criminals who organized these terrorist acts will receive stiff punishment. Islam and the Muslim Ummah curse terrorists who will be severely punished by God, for the Holy Qur'an says: "But whoever kills a believer intentionally—his recompense is Hell, wherein he will abide eternally".

Because of the terrorist attacks in Volgograd, Russia Muftis Council addresses everyone, asking our citizens not to respond to provocations, be watchful and inform law enforcement authorities of any suspicious things in public transport and other crowded places.

Muslims grieve with the whole country. Islam is against terrorism!
