A meeting between Chairman of Russia Muftis Council mufti sheikh Ravil Gaynutdin and extraorinary and plenipotentiary ambassador of Algeria in Russian Federation Smaïl Chergui took place in the residency of Russia Muftis Council.

The meeting was also attended by the advisor of Algerian embassy in Russia Hamid Benzid, first secretary of Algerian embassy in Russia Mohamed Meraimi and head of the International Department of Russia Muftis Council Ildar Galeev.

Smaïl Chergui has conveyed the greetings of the minister of wakuf of Algeria and expressed readiness for cooperation.

“We all see that Russia Muftis Council and Muslims of your country are doing a big job and make all efforts in order to protect and promote Islamic values. We share your position and express our readiness to support your projects.”

In his turn, head of Russian Muslims mufti sheikh Ravil Gaynutdin told of the life of Russia’s Muslims, activities of Muslim organizations of Russia, reconstruction of Moscow Jum’ah Mosque and events organized by Russia Muftis Council that demonstrate true values of Islam, in particular Moscow Halal Expo, Moscow International Qur’an Reading Contest, Mawlid an-Nabi and others.

Chairman of Russia Muftis Council especially stressed the fact that despite all problems and difficulties, Muslims of Russia have always found ways to develop their community, living in peace with their countrymen of different faiths.

In the end of the meeting, the sides agreed on further mutually beneficial cooperation.
