According to ITAR TASS agency 37 countries will participate in IV International Festival of the Muslim cinema “The Golden Minbar”. The festival will open inKazan on October 16^th.

“The interest towards the cinema forum is growing. This time the commission has been more strict in selecting the films”, - pointed out the chairman of the organization committee, vice minister of culture of Tatarstan Zilya Valeeva.

From among 189 movies, according to her words, the “most substantial” will be presented at the contest: 10 artistic, 13 documental and 11 shorts. The films are from Australia, Azerbaijan, Egypt, Iran, India, Russia, USA and other countries.

The jury headed by film director Bolotbek Shamshiev (Kyrgyzstan) consists of actress Abdel Hamid Fardus (Egypt), actor Javed Jaffrey (India), film director Longly James Bertrand (the USA), cinema critic Hans – Johim Shlegel (Germany), cinema specialist Vita Romm (Russia).

Izabel Adjani, Joel Shapron, Marco Muller, Alla Surikova, Boris Nevzorov, Irina Miroshnichenko, Andrey Sokolov, Ol’ga Pogodina are among those who will go by the star path in front of the “Piramida” culture centre. Eldar Ryazanov and Alexander Mitta will conduct master class. Fr the first time the Festival see scientific practical conference “The role of the cinema in the dialogue of cultures and confessions”. “A poetic evening will be organized to commemorate Chingiz Aytmatov”, - informed Valeeva.

Every day the prayers for the participants of the Festival will be held in Zakaban mosque.
