April 13 before the beginning of Friday prayer the Moscow Cathedral Mosque held a dzhanaza-prayer at the site prior to the temporary prayer hall of the mosque for an Islamic public figure - Metin Mehtiyev, brutally murdered in Moscow. Prayer was led by Mufti Ravil Gaynutdin.

The prayer was attended by hundreds of people. Dzhanaza- prayer was attended by friends, acquaintances, colleagues of Metin Mihtiev, by those who knew him well, those who had once heard about this man and decided to pay him tribute.

Mufti Ravil Gaynutdin addressed the audience by asking, first of all to exercise patience in such a difficult moment. He spoke about the joint work with the departed, the many joint trips to different regions of Russia.

"Metin remains in our memory as a kind, intelligent man who was raised with respect for the cultures and traditions, a man who always sought to promote brotherhood and friendship between peoples", - the mufti Ravil Gaynutdin said.

After the Mufti the right to speak was transferred to Abdul-Wahed Niyazov, the President of the Islamic Cultural Centre of Russia in the years 1992-2011, in which Metin worked for many years. This "beautiful" man, according to A.V.Niyazov, united people for his whole life. Abdul-Wahed Niyazov complained that the society didn’t save Metin, but this bitterness, resentment and anger for this he asked to use to remedy the situation.

The last speech was made by the president of the National-Cultural Autonomy of Russian Azerbaijanis Soyun Sadykov. According to him, Metin death was a loss not only for his family or his nation, it was a loss for Russia and the peoples inhabiting it, because Metin, as Sadykov said, spent himself, spent his youth doing community work, in preference this work to private.

Metin Mehtiyev buried in the cemetery Kuzminki. He was 33 years old.
