First International Qur'an Festival to take place in Moscow this Ramadan A session of the organizing committee of the First International Qur'an Festival took place in the Cultural Centre of the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

The session was attended by the head of the Cultural Centre Dr Reza Maliki, first RMC deputy chairman Rushan hazrat Abbyasov and head of SAM RF and RMC International department Ildar hazrat Galeev.

Rushan hazrat Abbyasov greeted the other participants of the session on behalf of mufti sheikh Ravil Gaynutdin. Speaking at the session, he stressed that this festival is unique and carries in it the true values of Islam and Qur'an. He especially outlined the fact that 2015 has been declared the year of literature in Russia, and that the upcoming festival is highly symbolical since the Holy Book of Islam possesses both rich historical legacy and deep spiritual roots.

Spiritual Administrations of Tatarstan, Dagestan, Bashkortostan, representatives of the Foundation of Islamic Cultural Legacy and Al-Mustafa University were also invited to take part in the organization of the festival.

Dr Reza Maliki, in his turn, said that due to its international character, the festival will be organized and supervised by specialists from Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, India and Tajikistan who will demonstrate their Qur'an-themed projects.

In the end of the meeting, the organizers announced that the First International Qur'an Festival will take place between July 11 and 17 this year.
