Mufti Rushan Abbyasov, Deputy Chairman of the Religious Board of Muslims of the Russian Federation (RBM) for International Affairs and Hajj, took part in a conference dedicated to the development of Russian-Indian trade and economic relations.
Addressing the forum participants, Mufti Rushan Abbyasov conveyed greetings on behalf of RBM Chairman Grand Mufti Sheikh Ravil Gaynutdin and particularly emphasized the significance of spiritual diplomacy, which the Religious Board has been consistently developing for many years. In his remarks, he underscored that the RBM has become one of the initiators of shaping the spiritual dimension of cooperation within BRICS. This has been reflected in several major international projects implemented in Kazan in 2024 and in Rio de Janeiro in 2025.
Among the key initiatives, Mufti Rushan Abbyasov named the Meeting of Leaders of Religious Organizations of BRICS Countries, the international conference "Spiritual Silk Road," and the Holy Quran Prize. He also noted that representatives of the Muslim community of India, which is one of the leading BRICS states, actively participated in these significant international events, making a substantial contribution to the development of interreligious and intercivilizational dialogue within the association.
