Karim Idrisov, an eleventh-grader at the Generation LRMC, won the Interregional Arabic Language Olympiad in Moscow. He received the main prize of the Olympiad - a trip to the UAE for an educational internship, as well as an impressive set of books and booklets.

Almaz Abdrakhmanov, Deputy Chairman of the Moscow RBM, Chairman of the LRMC ‘Generation’ (Moscow), said that Karim has been studying in the Sunday school at the LRMC ‘Generation’ since 2019: ‘Over the years of study, he has shown himself to be a diligent and conscientious student. Karim endeavours to study each topic in depth, asks additional questions, takes initiative. Mastering materials beyond the main course of study with the support of teachers.’

Karim Idrisov reads and studies the Holy Quran. He is a participant and winner of numerous children's contests for knowledge of the Koran.

In a brief conversation with Karim, we learnt that after graduation he intends to enter an Islamic university.

The Interregional Arabic Language Olympiad is a new large-scale intellectual competition among Russian schoolchildren. The Olympiad is aimed at encouraging students of general education institutions to study the Arabic language and culture in depth.

The project was organised by the Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak Centre for International Cooperation, the Institute of Asian and African Studies of Lomonosov Moscow State University (ISAA MSU) and the Moscow State Linguistic University (MSLU).

The Olympiad was held in two stages - qualifying and final (30 November - 1 December). The participants of this competition were school students of grades 5-11 from different regions of the Russian Federation.
