During a working visit to North Africa Deputy Chairman of the Russian Muftis Council Rushan hazrat Abbyasov had a meeting at the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Awqaf of the Algerian People's Democratic Republic.

The Secretary-General of the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Awqaf Ali Hammi brought greetings on behalf of the Minister, who is currently in France. Mr. Hammi Ali spoke about the events organized by the Ministry, noting that after the signing of a cooperation agreement between the RMC and the Ministry the work in the field of Islamic Education, Science and Culture adopted a bilateral nature.

Rushan hazrat Abbyasov conveyed greetings of the RMC Chairman Mufti Sheikh Ravil Gaynutdin. He underlined again the importance of religious co-operation between our countries fixed in the Memorandum of Understanding and Cooperation.

It should be reminded that: the Memorandum was signed by the Chairman of the RMC Mufti Sheikh Ravil Gaynutdin and Minister of Religious Affairs and Awqaf of Algeria, Abu Abdullah Gulamullah October 18, 2009.

Rushun Hazrat talked about areas in which cooperation could be developed – such as, first of all, the area of halal industry, Islamic finance and the global social network for Muslims.

Representatives of both sides expressed their readiness to continue work aimed at achieving positive results.
