Russian department of the Kuwaiti scientific and educational center of moderate Islam "al-Vasatyyya" intends to actively oppose the religious radicalism.

"To realize these plans, the main effort, as it was decided, is to focus on the use of modern electronic media, especially the Internet, as well as opportunities for television" - reported by the Foundation to support Islamic culture, science and education, which is co-founder of the Russian department of "Al-Vasatyya".

As part of this work a  translation into Russian of significant numbers of works of modern and classical Arab authors who are members of moderate Islamic religious schools has already started. In addition, with the aim of strengthening Russian-Arab cooperation in the spiritual realm it is decided to introduce as one of the directions of the Centre translated into Arabic classic works of prominent Russian Muslim theologians XIX - early XX centuries, as well as secular and religious philosophers and historians.

These decisions were made at the recently held in Moscow the first meeting of the Board of the Russian scientific and educational center.
