Rushan Abbyasov (first deputy chairman of the Russia Muftis Council, deputy chairman of the Religious Board of Muslims of the Russian Federation) met with the Minister of Social Development of Palestine Dr Ahmad Majdalani, Ambassador of the State of Palestine to the Russian Federation Abdel Hafiz Nofal and the Ambassador Khalid Miari. The meeting was attended by Ildar Galeyev, deputy chairman of the Russia Muftis Council, head of the International Department of the RBMRF, and Suleiman Adzhiev, Director General of the Zakat Charity Fund.

Rushan Abbyasov conveyed greetings to the guests on behalf of the religious leader of the Muslims of Russia, Mufti Sheikh Ravil Gainutdin, emphasising the unity of the Russian Ummah with the Palestinian people. He noted that the Russian people supported the residents of Gaza through the state initiatives, the business community and charitable events, as well as private efforts of regular citizens who want to help the oppressed people of Palestine.

Rushan Abbyasov drew the attention of the guests to the fact that the Palestinian families sent by EMERCOM special aircrafts to Russia at the end of last year have been provided with all necessary support, including assistance in employment and education.

Dr Ahmad Majdalani thanked Russian Muslims for their support. He also said that due to Israel's inhumane actions against humanitarian cargoes from Russia and other countries, the shortage of humanitarian aid still persists.

Mr Abdel Hafiz Nofal, Ambassador of Palestine to Russia, stressed that the residents, as well as the leadership of the country, could see and feel the support provided by the Russian Federation, and expressed hope that the unity of Muslims and all people of good will from all over the world would help the State of Palestine and its residents to find peace.

Suleiman Adzhiev, General Director of the akat Charity Fund, mentioned that this February the organizaion collected 30 tonnes of humanitarian aid, which was transported through Egypt to Gaza.
