Rushan Abbyasov, first deputy chairman of the Russia Muftis Council, deputy chairman of the Religion Board of Muslims of the Russian Federation paid a working visit to the Embassy of Qatar in the Russian Federation, where he met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Mr Ahmed Nasser Al Thani. The meeting was also attended by Mr Ildar Galeev, deputy chairman of the RMC, head of the International Department of the RBMRF.

Rushan Abbyasov conveyed to Mr Ambassador words of greetings on behalf of the religious leader of Russian Muslims Mufti Sheikh Ravil Gainutdin, and informed him about the results of his trip to Qatar, which took place in November. In particular, Rushan Abbyasov told about the meetings with Mr Ghanem bin Shaheen Al Ghanim, Minister of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs of the State of Qatar, and Mr Salem Al Aswad, Deputy Director of the Museum of Islamic Art in Doha. During these meetings the parties discussed the possibilities of cooperation in religious, scientific, educational, humanitarian and cultural spheres.

Mr Ahmed Al Thani noted the importance of the development of these areas of cooperation and praised the hard work of the RBMRF and the RMC, headed by Mufti Sheikh Ravil Gainutdin, aimed at strengthening the ties between the peoples of Russia and Qatar. He also assured that the Embassy of Qatar in the Russian Federation will continue to support joint projects and programs.
