Mufti Sheikh Ravil Gainutdin meets the Ambassador of Iran Mufti Sheikh Ravil Gainutdin, chairman of the Religious Board of Muslims of the Russian Federation and the Russia Muftis Council, met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the Russian Federation Kazem Jalali. The meeting was attended by deputy muftis Rushan Abbyasov and Ildar Galeyev, as well as the embassy staff.

At the beginning of the meeting, Mufti Sheikh Ravil Gainutdin conveyed greetings and best wishes to the leadership and people of Iran. The parties agreed that there were many common points between the two countries since they shared similar views on many topical issues.

The participants emphasised that spiritual and religious ties and contacts between our countries constitute an integral part of their relations. They reminded that Islam is a religion of peace, justice, and moderation, and that the peoples of Russia and Iran hope that justice and mutual respect would lay the foundation for a dialogue between all countries of the world.

It was also mentioned that during the speech of the Iranian President Seyyed Ebrahim Raisi at the UN General Assembly in New York,he picked up the Quran and said that this Holy Book calls mankind to rationality, spirituality, truth, justice, and proclaims unity and equality of all ihuman beings.

The parties discussed further cooperation, including participation in international events and the implementation of joint projects.
