On Tuesday, March 21, the Chairman of the Religious Board of Muslims of the Russian Federation and the Russia Mufftis Council, Mufti Sheikh Ravil Gainutdin, and H.E. Sheikh Ahmed Bin Nasser Al-Thani, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the State of Qatar to the Russian Federation ad a meeting at the Embassy of Qatar in Moscow.

The meeting was attended by the Mufti deputies Rushan Abbyasov and Ildar Galeev, as well as diplomats from the Embassy of Qatar in Moscow.

"On behalf of Russian Muslims and the Russian community as a whole, I would like to thank the leadership and the people of Qatar for their efforts in developing Russian-Qatari cooperation," said Mufti Sheikh Ravil Gainutdin.

"I would like to express special gratitude to His Highness the Emir of Qatar who regularly congratulates the Russian Muslims on major religious events," he added.

The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the State of Qatar Sheikh Ahmed bin Nasser praised the initiative of Mufti Sheikh Ravil Gainutdin to celebrate the anniversary of the 1100th anniversary of the adoption of Islam by the people of Volga Bulgaria. The parties also expressed their contentment with the partnership in the Islamic field between the Religious Board of Muslims of Russia, the Embassy and relevant religious institutions in Qatar.
