In less than a month, on 5 April, the international halal trade fair MIHAS will open in Kuala Lumpur. This is the 14th exhibition annually conducted in Malaysia and one of the largest similar events in the world. Malaysia was one of the first countries to hold exhibitions on this subject; later this trend was picked up by other countries, such as Russia, Netherlands, Turkey and Kazakhstan.
According to the exhibition's official website, MIHAS 2017 focuses on the following sectors: food, pharmaceutical products, cosmetics. Buyers from 70 countries attend the event. Besides, the annual World Halal Conference takes place within the framework of the Malaysian Halal Expo, and this year there will also be a congress of certification centres.
The exhibition takes place under the patronage of the Ministry of International Trade and Industry (MITI). The organizer of MIHAS is the Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE). The exhibition will run for 4 days from 5 to 9 April 2017.
As reported on the MIHAS official Instagram account, today a new MIHAS logo was revealed at the press conference in Kuala Lumpur. Its creators were inspired by Cufic writing, one of the oldest kinds of Arabic writings created in the 8th century. “The logo symbolizes strength, optimism and openness, reflecting to the full the values of the event”, — says the MIHAS Instagram account.
The Moscow Halal Expo represented by its organizer, the Alif Consult company, and a number of Russian halal producers will also participate in the MIHAS fair as a part of a separate exposition. This was reported to MuslimEco by Kirill Skogorev, general director of Alif Consult.
