Today Mufti Sheikh Ravil Gaynutdin met the ambassadors and diplomats of Muslim countries in his residence in the Moscow Cathedral Mosque.

A formal dinner was organised on the occasion of the Rabi ul-Awwal, the month of praying and honouring the memory of the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him.

Among the events devoted to Mawlid an-Nabi this reception played an important role in maintaining friendly and business contacts between our country and Muslim countries. Russian Muslims have always seen themselves as a part of the global Muslim community.

The leader of Russian Muslims welcomed the guests and noted that for the Muslim civilization that spread over three continents and united different nations this months was a great opportunity to recall the Prophet Muhammad's life, to admire his personality and to follow his example.

He repeated his congratulations addressed to the recently appointed Prime Minister of Lebanon Saad al-Hariri.

The mufti expressed his condolences in connection with terroristic acts in Turkey and Jordan.

After the welcoming speech the guests watched a video report about the construction of some new mosques, renovation of historical sites in Russia, visits of preachers and imams in the Russian regions.

Mufti Sheikh Ravil Gaynutdin informed the guests about existing agreements made during the meetings with diplomats and ministers of the GCC countries.
