Today the first deputy chairman of the Spiritual Board of Muslims of Russia, Damir Muhetdinov, visited the embassy of Turkey in Moscow. During his visit he conveyed through the head of the Turkish diplomatic mission, Huseyin Dirioz, official condolences to the President of Turkey Recep Erdogan and the Turkish people in connection with explosions that took place yesterday in Istanbul. The terroristic acts left at least 44 people killed and over 150 injured.

During the meeting with the recently appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Damir Muhetdinov expressed readiness to cooperate further to for the sake of humanity, peace and сconsent and to condemn any signs of radicalism and extremism. He invited Huseyin Dirioz to visit the Moscow Cathedral Mosque and pray together with mufti sheikh Ravil Gaynutdin for the victims of the attack.

“It is especially painful to witness such incidents during mawlid, when the Muslim ummah celebrates the birth of the Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him. We are convinced that the attitude of the Turkish nation is right and we support them”, — noted Damir Muhetdinov.  

“On behalf of all Russian Muslims I express deepest condolences to you,  all Turkish people and the families of the victims. I was shocked to learn about this horrendous attack in Istanbul and the deaths of civilians. I pray to Allah the Almighty that He grants recovery to the injured ones and saves their lives", — write mufti sheikh Ravil Gaynutdin.

The mufti said that the Russian Muslims forcefully condemned these attacks and perceived them as an expression of vicious intentions and inhumanity of the terrorists, no matter under what slogans they did it.

It was the first meeting of the representative of the SBMRF and the RMC after Huseyin Dirioz was appointed Ambassador of Turkey in Moscow.

Huseyin Dirioz thanked Damir Muhetdinov for the condolences. “Please convey my greetings to mufti sheikh Ravil Gaynutdin. We are very grateful. Your support in this difficult time gives us strength”, — he added and promised to return the visit in the nearest future.
