Today in the residence of the Russia Mufti Council Mufti Sheikh Ravil Gaynutdin, Chairman of the Russia Muftis Council and the Spiritual Board of Muslims of Russia, met Saud Abdullah Zaid Al Mahmoud, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Qatar in Russia. The meeting was attended by Rushan hazrat Abbyasov, first deputy Chairman of the RMC and the SBMRF, and Ildar Galeyev, head of International department.
The meeting took place due to the end of the diplomatic mission of Mr Saud Abdullah Al Mahmoud in Russia.

Mufti Sheikh Ravil Gaynutdin thanked the Ambassador for participating in the organization of the official visit of the RMC and SBMRF delegation to Qatar and for arranging meetings with the Prime Minister of Qatar, Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Thani, and the Minister of awqaf and Islamic affairs, Ghaith bin Mubarak Al Kuwari.

The parties expressed a high opinion of their mutual cooperation.
“Over two and a half years spent I Russia I came to like this country and its people. I also owe my comfortable stay in Russia to cultural and educational events organized by the RMC and the SMBRF, which we attended with the family”, — said the Ambassador.

“Although the media claim there is some tension between Russia and Qatar, let me say that the heads of our two countries are connected with the ties of friendship and perfect understanding on a number of questions”, — noted Saud Abdullah Al Mahmoud.

The parties agreed to develop further cooperation.  
In conclusion, the spiritual leader of Russian Muslims on behalf of Russian muftis, imams and religious leaders awarded a medal “For spiritual unity” to Saud Abdullah Al Mahmoud.
