Abdullah Fahmi from Malaysia wins Qur'an Reciting Competition
The final stage of the 17th Moscow International Quran Reciting Competition took place on the 25th September in the Crocus City Hall with the support of the the President of the  Moscow International Quran Reciting Competition, Chairman of the Russian Muftis Council and the Spiritual Board of Muslims of the Russian Federation, mufti sheikh Ravil Gaynutdin, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia and the Government of Moscow.

This year Qur'an reciters from over 30 countries participated in the contest. 

The participants competed in the Tilawa nomination (beautiful recitation of the Quran at sight).

The strict jury including famous Qur’an experts from Russia, Bahrain, Iran, Morocco and Turkey evaluated following the tajweed and beauty of recitation.

According to the jury's decision, 5 participants qualified for the final: Abdullah Fahmi (Malaysia), Ali Salah Ali Umar (Bahrain), Yusuf Abdullah (Yemen), Salman Muhammad ad-Dawri (Iraq), Sagid Mahdi (Iran).

Apart from the Qur'an recitation, the visitors could enjoy the magnificent art of sand drawing. They also watched a short film about the power of faith and the miracle of the Muslims' Holy Scripture.

During the Moscow International Quran Reciting Competition the visitors had a chance to win 3 umrah tickets.

All participants of the Moscow International Quran Reciting Competition performed worthily and conveyed the Holy Word of the Creator to thousands of visitors of different ethnic and confessional backgrounds.  Thousands of people could watch the live broadcast of the contest at the Russian Muftis Council website muslim.ru and at the Islamlife.ru portal. 

The first place in the Moscow International Quran Reciting Competition was given to Abdullah Fahmi, Malaysia, the second place went to Yusuf Abdullah from Yemen, and Ali Salah Ali Umar from Bahrain was the third.

Sagid Mahdi from Iran received a special prize from Mufti Sheikh Ravil Gaynutdin.

The audience award was given to Salman Muhammad ad-Dawri from Iraq.

The winners of the Moscow International Quran Reciting Competition received diplomas decorated with top-class Egyptian crystals. All participants received gifts and participation certificates.

The Safmar charity fund provided financial assistance for the contest.
