Mufti Sheikh Ravil Gaynutdin, chairman of the Russian Muftis Council and the Spiritual Board of Muslims of Russia, met the Indonesian delegation led by Mr Moermahadi Soerj Janegar, member of the Audit Board of Indonesia.

The meeting was also attended by Mr Bambang Bamunkas, senior auditor, Mr Gery Subowo, head of the the Audit Board’s representative office in Central Java, Mr Yudi Budiman, head of the Agency for public relations and international cooperation, Mr Eko Purnomo, head of the auditors of the Audit Board’s representative office in Central Java, Ms Riha Handayani, official of the International Cooperation department.

During the meeting mufti sheikh Ravil Gaynutdin told about interaction between religion and power in Russia, highlighting the role of the Interfaith Council of Russia and the President's Council for cooperation with religious institutions, which ensure interfaith cooperation and dialogue and contribute to stability and sustainable development of the society.

The spiritual leader of Russian Muslims, mufti sheikh Ravil Gaynutdin, spoke about international activity of religious institutions and about close relations with Indonesian Muslims.

“Thanks to the authorities' support, we promote development of bilateral Russian-Indonesian relations, deepening cooperation in cultural and religious fields. We work with the Ministry of Religious Affairs of Indonesia. We have signed memorandums of understanding and cooperation with such religious associations like Muhammadiya, Nahdat Al-Ulama, Majlis Al-Ulama.

Mr Bambang Bamunkas appraised highly the activity of the Russian Muftis Council and the Spiritual Board of Muslims of Russia, and expressed hope that cooperation of Russian and Indonesian Muslim would expand further.
