Mufti Sheikh Ravil Haynutdin, Chairman of the Russian Muftis Council and the Spiritual Board of Muslims of Russia, visited Ankara at the invitation of Dr Mehmet Gormez, Minister of Religious Affairs of Turkey.

The parties discussed the questions of bilateral cooperation in the area of religious education and spiritual upbringing, which should be beneficial for both countries.

In cooperation with foreign partners and within the frames of the signed contracts, the Russian Muftis Council and the Spiritual Board of Muslims of Russia work on publishing educational literature and distributing information about moderate Islam.

The conferences initiated and led by Mufti Sheikh Ravil Gaynutdin serve the same purpose. These conference and seminars, including international ones, are attended by high-ranking scholars and public persons, and contribute to stability in relationships between all nations.

The International Muslim Forum is one of such events. Mufti Sheikh Ravil Gaynutdin and Mehmet Gormez will discuss cooperation issues within the framework of this forum.

Besides, Mufti Sheikh Ravil Gaynutdin will participate in the Committee of the Eurasion Islamic Council. The Committee will define the questions to be discussed at the Islamic Council, which will take place this November in Istanbul.
