Fighting extremism through "golden mean" idea Today a delegation of the RMC and SBMRF led by the Chairman, Mufti sheikh Ravil Gainutdin, is to leave for Urumqi, China. Rushan hazrat Abbyasov, first deputy chairman of the RMC and SBMRF, Ildar hazrat Galeyev, head of the International department, Dinar Gaynetdinov, head of SBMRF department and Eldar Sharipov, leading expert of the Media Relations department.

Within the course of the visit, which is taking place by an invitation of the State Administration for Religious Affairs of China and the Islamic ASsociation of China on 20-22 July, the RMC and SBMRF delegation will participate in the international research and practice conference “Propagation of the “golden mean” idea and fighting against extremism”.

Mufti Sheikh Ravil Gainutdin will present a report entitled “Russian Muslims as conductors for the Qur’anic ideas of the “golden mean” on the Great Silk Route”. Rushan hazrat Abbyasov, first deputy chairman of the RMC and SBMRF, will also present a report at one of the conference sessions.

This conference will bring together Islamic spiritual leaders of Russia and Asian countries, as well as representatives of governmental institutions for religious affairs in order to explore and discuss the “golden mean” idea in Islam as one of the ways allowing to fight against extremism.

From the Chinese side the conference will be attended by the head of the State Administration for Religious Affairs of China and the Islamic Association of China, their regional representatives, government member of the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region, representatives of relevant agencies and cultural figures.
