After successful participation in Islamic conference in Crimea Mufti Sheikh Ravil Gaynutdin met the Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs, a member of royal family, Sheikh Abdurahman bin Rashid al Khalifa, in the Domodedovo airport of Moscow.

The delegation led by Sheikh was invited to Russia by Mufti Sheikh Ravil Gaynutdin and came to Russia with a return visit.  

The negotiations in the Domodedovo airport secured the agreements reached during a high-level meeting with His Majesty the King of Bahrain Hamad bin Isa al Khalifa in Manama during an official visit of the Head of Russian Muslims, who visited Bahrain in March.

The programme of the return visit prepared by the Russian Muftis Council, was rich and varied. Apart from participating in the work of the “Russia — Islamic world” Strategic Vision Group, which took place in Kazan in the late May, the delegation from Bahrain saw Muslims’ life in Tatarstan and visited Saint Petersburg, a sister town of Manama. It should be mentioned that the son of Sheikh Abdurahman bin Rashid is the mayor of Manama.

Mufti Sheikh Ravil Gaynutdin told his interlocutor that he was following closely the course of the guests’ return visit. In return, Sheikh Abdurahman bin Rashid expressed his sincere gratitude for a well-organized visit and excellent cultural programme arranged by the RMC employees.

The negotiations resulted in determination of cooperation areas and dates of nearest meetings of the both countries’ working groups in order to implement programmes on religious, cultural, economic cooperation.
