President of Tatarstan meets Deputy Chairman of Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs Within the frames of another session of the “Russia —Islamic world” strategic committee Rustam Minnikhanov, President of Tatarstan, met sheikh Abdurahman bin Rashid al Khalifa, Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs, who was invited to Russia by the Chairman of the Russian Muftis Council and the Spiritual Board of Muslims of Russia and directed by His Majesty the King of Bahrain, Hamad bin Isa al Khalifa.

Rustam Minnihanov and sheikh Abdurahman bin Rashid Al Kahlifa expressed highest regard for Bahrain-Russia relations and highlighted the need to increase efforts aimed at strengthening cooperation in different areas.

Rustam Minnihanov thanked the Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs for coming to Kazan and participating in the events organized by the “Russia — Islamic world”  Strategic vision committee.

The President of Tatarstan noted that Tatarstan attaches great importance to cooperation with Bahrain in the context of strengthening ties between Russia and Bahrain. He also emphasized that Russia had a serious attitude towards Islamic world, and that Tatarstan, one of the country’s regions, made its contribution to enhancing relationships with Muslim countries.

During the meeting the parties discussed topical questions of further interaction, confirming their openness and readiness to cooperation development. The Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs highlighted the unique nature of Russia’s relations with Muslim countries and expressed satisfaction with the big number of mosques in the city.  He also noticed the neighbourliness of Tatarstan, which apparently was due to the wise policy pursued by the Russian government.
The parties highlighted the necessity for being moderate in practicing Islam.

After the meeting the parties exchanges gifts.
