The Chairman of RMC mufti sheikh Ravil Gainutdin met with the Minister of Regional development Viktor Basargin.

During the meeting they discussed topical and urgent issues.

The Russian Muslims Leader informed the Minister about the situation of building mosques and reconstruction monuments of Muslim architecture in the Russian Federation territory.

The particular attention was paid to the issue of building mosque in Sochi, to which the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Medvedev gave a special status during the meeting in Moscow Cathedral Mosque with Russian muftis July 15, 2009. The President supported the idea  of building mosque in Sochi, the capital of XXII Olympic Winter games and XI Paralympic Winter games 20014 where many Muslims live.

During today meeting the parties concluded that they need to make efforts and work systematically to find the necessary land required to build the mosque.

Also they decided to carry out joint projects between the Russian Mufties Council and Ministry of Regional Development of RF in the fields of education, youth upbringing, which help in consolidation and unity in the society.

Due to above mentioned they also discussed the issue of creating Islamic TV channel in Russia and creating in Moscow centre of moderate Islam AlVasatiya.

The parties expressed confidence in fruitfulness of cooperation in these and future projects.
