On December 18, 2009 the Council of Federation of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation held parliament listening on the topic “Economics and ethics during the crisis”

The discussions were held by the Committee for economic politics, entrepreneurship and property. A.Hazin, deputy head of the committee chaired the parliament discussions.

Members of the Council of Federation, members of the State Duma, representatives of the Government of the Russian Federation , of the Public Chamber of Russia, representatives of the traditional religious communities of Russia , business circles and professional organizations took part in the discussions.

The meeting had an objective to discuss the issues of mutual impact on the economy of Russia of economic and ethical aspects during the world financial crisis, to discuss the aims and tasks of business ethics, prospects of its development as the main condition of overcoming crisis in financial, economic and social spheres.

Russia muftis Council was represented at the discussion by Madina Kalimullina, deputy head of the international Relations Dept., head of Economic programmes office of RMC, who made a presentation on “Islamic business ethics. Financial crisis and Islamic finance principles”.

Upon the results of the discussions Recommendations had been worked out.
