During the visit the delegation is planing to visit Beijing, the administrative centers of the two Chinese provinces with significant Muslim populations - the center of the Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region Yinchuan city and center of the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region Urumqi, as well as the historical city of Kashgar.

The delegation consists of co-chairman of RMC, the Chairman of the Religious Board of Muslims of the Asian part of Russia, Mufti Nafigulla Ashirov, head of the International Department of RMC Rushan Abbyasov and Vice-Chairman DUM Nizhny Novgorod Damir Muhetdinov. The delagation is led by the President of the Public Wing of RMC – the Islamic Culture Center of Russia Abdul-Wahed Niyazov. The delegation during its visit is planning  a series of meetings with leaders of the Muslim community in China, with political and administrative leadership of the country and regions. During these meetings the further development of relations between the Russian and Chinese multi-million Muslim communities the  will be discussed.

It is worth mentioning that the special attention to the evelopment of Russia-Chinese relationships was drawn on August 3 this year session of the Council for Cooperation with Religious Associations under the President of the Russian Federation, chaired by the head of the Presidential Administration, Sergey Naryshkin. On particular, on the session the gathered decided to establish the Council Working Group on the development Russia-Chinese relationships in the religious sphere and development working contacts between the Council and the State Administration for Religious Affairs of the the People's Republic of China.

Thus, the today visit of the Russian Mufties Council to China is entirely within the policy of determined deepening an expanding relationships between Russia and China in the religious sphere. Moreover, the begining for establisment of trust reltionships between Russian and Chinese Muslim communities was in 2007 when with the working visit the delegation of the Russian Mufties Council headed by the Chairman of the RMC mufti sheikh Ravil Gainutdin went to China. In China the elegation was met by t head of the the Muslim Association of China Chen Guanyuan. Within the visit the Head of the Russian Mufties Council met with the Vice-Premier of the Council of the State of PRC, head of China State Administration of Religious Affairs Ye Xiaowen, deputy chairman of the National Committee of the People's Political Consultative Council of China Abdulaydi Abdurashid.

A year later, in October 2008 the return visit of the delegation of the Chinese Muslims in Russia, headed by the leader of the Chinese Muslim community Chen Guanyuanem took place. In the framework of the visit the members of the delegation met with Deputy Foreign Minister A. Borodavkin, First Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council, Alexander Torshin. The Chinese delegation in addition to Moscow, visited the capital of the northernmost Muslim republic - the city of Kazan, theital of the Chechen city of Grozny, the capital of the largest Muslim republic of Russia - the city of Makhachkala, and the cradle of Russian Islam - Ancient Derbent.

During the visit the Russian Mufties Council and the Muslim Association of China signed a "Memorandum of Understanding and Cooperation". As the Russian Mufties Council notes in the framework of the memorandum much work has been already done, such as the change of delegations, mutual participations of the parts in different forums and conference, such as, the participation of the head of the Chinese Muslims Chen Guanyuan in last year's International conference "Russia and the Islamic world" in Moscow, for instance.

We note that the Muslim community in China numbers, by some accounts, more than 30 million people. Ethnic composition of Muslims in China is diverse: the Uighurs, Kazakhs, Uzbeks, Salar, Tatar and Dungans - ethnic Chinese convert ed to Islam many centuries ago.The entire Muslim community in China is presente by the 12 peoples of the country. Organizationally believers united in the Muslim Association of China, which was established in 1953 with the assistance of the leader of the People's Republic of Mao Zedong.

The organization comprises more than 50,000 imams, has many activities and maintains relationships with many Muslim religious organizations throughout the world, including the Organization of Islamic Conference, the World Islamic League, the World Organization of bringing together the schools of thought. Muslim infrastructure in China developed extensively. There are more than 42 thousand mosques, each of which is Muslim mini-complex, unique in its architectural design.
