RMC News2010-07-10 00:00:00 Halal industry in Russia expects great prospectsMoscow Halal Expo: successful beginning Yersterday evening in the IEC Crocus-Expo the First Moscow International Halal Exhibition – Moscow Halal Expo 2010 completed its work. The organizer of the Exhibition was the Russian Mufties Council. The Exhibition was supported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia, the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation, the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia in the partnership with Russia-Arab Business Council, the International Exhibition Center “Crocus EXPO”, the Financial Academy under the Government of the Russian Federation, the Moscow International High School of Business (MIRBIS), the Association of Small and Medium Enterprises of the Republic of Tatarstan, Bank Muamalat Indonesia (English), Al-Baraka Bank (English), the Russian Association of experts in Islamic finance, the Gallery MiussE, Producers’ Center “Rukh”. At the Exhibition 62 companies-exhibitors from Russia, Palestine, UAE, Indonesia, Belarus exhibited the products and services in the fields of production and trade of food, meat and poultry processing, publishing, technology, catering, education, clothing, cosmetics, tourism, Islamic finance and others. During the work of the Exhibition it was visited by 2 thousand people. Within the Exhibition the business meetings with participation of representatives of major Russian wholesale and retail networks, among of which “The Alphabet of taste”, “Ashan”, “Perekrestok”, took place. The Exhibition was visited by a large number of statesmen and diplomats. The ceremony of the opening of the Exhibition was attended by the Ambassador Plenipotentiary and Extraordinary of Indonesia Dr. Hamid Avaluddin. In its greeting address to the participants and guests he said: “By eating something real enjoyment can be obtained not only on the condition that food is tasty but having an inner conviction that it is permissible that is halal”. The Business program of the Exhibition included the International Conference “Islamic finance: the development in Russia” and the Forum “Halal industry in Russia and the world”. About 200 people from Russia, the United Kingdom, Germany, Bahrain, UAE, Saudi Arabia, Palestine, Malaysia, Indonesia, Luxembourg, Kazakhstan and Belarus. As result of the discussion of topical issues related to the development of model contracts of Islamic finance, the development of educational programs, unification of Halal certification process and others the participants adopted the resolution. |
