Continuity in the work and new horizons
Today in the International Exhibition Center “Crocus
Expo” the ceremony of opening the First Moscow International Halal Exhibition
took place, gathering large numbers of participants and guests together. 
The organizers, the Russian Mufties Council and other partners, used this Exhibition to “provide a unique opportunity for Russian manufacturers of food, cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, financial, touristic and other goods and services in accordance with the norms of Islam, to declare itself on the international level, to exchange experience, establish business ties with domestic and foreign partners”.
The Exhibition received congratulations from the federal and municipal authorities and representatives of business elite.
The Chairman of the Russian Mufties Council mufti sheikh Ravil Gainutdin sent his greetings to the participants.
The Chairman of the Organizing Committee Rushan hazrat Abbyasov turned to the people with the greetings.
The First Moscow International Halal Exhibition became
a platform where the representatives of Russian and foreign companies of
Halal-industry got the opportunity to hold business-presentations, training
seminars and round tables to exchange experience in the field of production,
standardization and certification of Halal products.
On the first day of the work within the business program of Halal Exhibition - Moscow Halal Expo 2010 the International Conference “Islamic finance: the development in Russia” took place.

The moderator of the first plenary session, the President of the Islamic Culture Centre of Russia (ICCR) Abdul-Wahed Niyazov stressed the continuity of the work of the Conference, especially mentioning that it was the third forum on the subject less than half the year.
Abdul Wahed Niyazov reminded that in 2009 the Russian Mufties Council jointly with the companies “Business-Conference” and "The Moscow Times" was a co-organizer of two major conferences in Moscow – the Conference “Islamic banking: specifics and prospects”, which took place March 17-18, 2009 and showed the necessity for joint efforts of experts of initiative group to create conditions for the planned development in Russia the instruments of Islamic finance. The international conference “Islamic finance: the prospects of development of Russia”, held December 10, 2009 was the result of more than six months’ work research conducted by the Working Group on the Alternative (Islamic) financial products and institutes, bringing together experts in the field of finance, economics, law and taxation.
At the December Conference the decision about the need to create the professional organization in Russia on Islamic finance was made. As result, in February 2010 the Russian Association of experts in Islamic finance was created. Its mission is to form in Russia a professional community of experts in the field of Islamic financing.
At the conference the detailed reports were spoken by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg in Moscow Gaston Stronk, vice president of the group of companies “Safinat” Shamil Murtazaliev, the senior vice president of the bank “Al-Baraka” Abdurahman Shehab and other participants of the Conference.
Today’s International Conference “Islamic finance: the
development in Russia” became a logical continuation of the work of the last few
months and allowed not only to sum up the results of the work, of bilateral
meetings and negotiations with representatives of business circles of Russia and
Islamic world countries but also determine the areas of further work in the
field of Islamic finance.
