The Organizing committee of the Moscow International Quran Reciting Competition has the honour to invite representatives of Muslim countries and Muslim communities in non-Muslim countriestake part in the X Moscow International Quran Reciting Competition, which will take place on June 20-21,2009 in Moscow.

The Nominations of the Competition:

The Competition has two nominations:

1. Knowledge by heart all the text of the Holy Quran with Tajweed and Tarteel;
2. Reciting of the given part of the text of the Holy Quran by Muskhaf (Tilawa)

Tasks by nominations:

1. Reciting by heart three abstracts from the text of the Holy Quran without preliminary preparation;
2. Reciting full page of Muskhaf with preliminary preparation.

Requirements to the candidates:

1 – The first nomination:

• а) knowledge of the whole text of the Holy Quran by heart;
• б) knowledge of tajweed rules;

2 – The second nomination:

• а) beautiful voice;
• б) beautiful style of reciting (makam)
• в) knowledge of tajweed rules.

General conditions:

1 – The citizens of the Russian Federation and foreign citizens who submit the recommendation from centralized religious organizations can participate in the Competition. The age of the participants should not exceed 35 years;

2 – The candidate participates in the nomination that is stated in the invitation letter of the organizing committee;

3 – The candidate is registered upon receipt by the organizing committee of filled-in registration form and all the required documents stated in p. 4;

4 – The participants of the competition are to present the following documents:

- statement to the name of the chairman of the organizing committee;

- filled in application form;

- recommendation of the centralized religious organization;

- passport copy;

- 2 photos (size 3х4).

5 – After the Organizing committee considers the application, confirmation to be sent to the address of the participant. The candidate is considered approved for the competition only after receipt by him of the confirmation from the Organizing committee;

8 – The candidates are to present the applications not later than till April 20, 2009;

7 – The application forms submitted after the deadlines will not be considered at all;
