Russia Mufties Council
Establishment
Russia Mufties Council was created in 1996 by the decision on the 1st Majlis of the heads of regional Religious boards of Muslims of Russia.
The Council of Muftis of Russia is a centralized religious organization uniting on a voluntary basis religious Muslim associations – Religious boards of Muslims, Muhtasibats and other kinds of religious Muslim associations on the territory of the Russian Federation.
The Council carries out its activity on the basis of the Holy Writ of Muslims – the Koran and rules of the Muslim law – the Sharia and in accordance with the Constitution of the
The main purposes:
- organizational consolidation of Muslim religious organizations on the territory of the Russian Federation with the view of joint solution of problems and tasks relating to the whole Muslim community of Russia;
- coordination and mutual assistance with respect to the activity of the organizations being the part of it;
- elaboration of a joint position of the organizations being the part of it in relations with public authorities on federal and local level, organizations representing other confessions, international and foreign organizations.
Chairman
The Chairman of the Russia Mufties Council is mufti sheikh Ravil Gaynutdin .
Language
The official language is Russian, but Arabian and English are additionally used as working languages.
